Katrin joined Johnsen Archer LLP in 1996. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University where she graduated summa cum laude and was awarded the Governor General Gold Medal.

Katrin's blend of academic insight, practical skill and crystal-clear self-expression has been welcomed enthusiastically by our clients. As the firm's tax leader, Katrin specializes in estate and succession planning, complex corporate reorganizations, personal tax planning, and taxation of owner-managed enterprises. Her experience representing her clients' tax interests with all levels of Revenue Canada includes obtaining advance rulings in Ottawa and testifying in the B.C. Supreme Court as an expert witness.

Katrin describes Johnsen Archer LLP as a "team of talented, enthusiastic professionals who truly put their clients' interests first". She contributes technical tax 'know-how' to the team - "the ability to apply it as well as the ability to translate it into plain English." She is the person people go to with tax questions.

Katrin is committed to keeping her knowledge up-to-the-minute and follows technical discussions, new court judgements and other developments on a constant basis. She is also a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, and a past chair of the Professional Development Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia. When she is not at the office, Katrin loves to ride equestrian dressage and to scuba dive.
